1. Continue to develop independent ideas to write and draw on paper.
2. Label their ideas on paper with the first sounds they hear in the words and/or by labeling with whole word
3. Practice 'stretching out the sounds' to label pictures when writing (/c/ /a/ /t/.....cat)
*This week in Math Kindergarteners will...
1. Practice number writing 1-10.
2. Demonstrate understanding language SAME & DIFFERENT when comparing two or three objects.
3. Classify objects by similar patterns
4. Classify objects into three categories
*This week in Reading Workshop Kindergarteners will..
1. Continue to understand routines and expectations during centers
2. Count Up the Alphabet: G, H, I, J
3. What does it mean to 'Read to Self' and how do I 'Read to Self' in Kindergarten?
4. What does it mean to 'Read to Someone' and how do I 'Read to Someone' in Kindergarten?
5. Sight Words Practiced this week: I, me, can, go

Reading Logs come home this week!
This week each student will receive a SEPTEMBER reading log! I encourage you to read nightly with your child. For each book your Kindergartener reads and/or listens to, they an cross off an icon on the SEPTEMBER reading log. When the students finish the log they can bring it back for Horseshoe Hoorays!
