1. Reading Units of Study instruction will begin this week! :)
2. Students learn how readers read the WHOLE world.
3. Readers read books to learn about the World.
4. Readers read about themselves and with others.
5. Count up the Alphabet: K, L, M, N, O
6. Read to Self and Read to Someone with our Red Book Bins
7. Sight Words: a, the, am, at
*This week in Math Kindergarteners will...
1. Count in vertical columns and horizontal rows
2. Counting 1-30 (Up and down)
3. Number writing 1-10
4. One to One Correspondence with counting 1-20
*LEXIA usernames and passwords will come home this week! The students may use this literacy program as much as they would like. It covers the five essential areas of literacy development: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and reading comprehension. Students may mark off an icon on their reading log if they use Lexia at home that night! :)
